LOWER NINTH WARD – NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA
At the behest of New Orleans Lower Ninth Ward Neighborhood Council Inc. and City Council member Cynthia Ward Lewis, Stull and Lee designed and provided oversight for the construction of a monument to honor the victims of Hurricane Katrina and to celebrate the indomitable spirit of the survivors determined to rebuild their community.
Designed and constructed in roughly four weeks, all of the professional services, materials and labor were donated. The monument was dedicated on the one year anniversary of the storm with the Governor and the Mayor in attendance in a ceremony covered by local and international press.
