HOUSTON, TEXAS
Commissioned by the Fourth Ward Community Coalition and Houston Renaissance Incorporated, Stull and Lee worked with a variety of local stakeholders to prepare a consensus plan for the Fourth Ward, a 125 acre site adjacent to Houston’s Central Business District.
The Fourth Ward Revitalization Plan, which includes the Freedmen’s Town Historic District, recommends a build out of 1,200 new and rehabilitated, mixed income housing units. Streetscape improvements, commercial development, new parks, and the renovation and expansion of several churches. Stull and Lee generated urban design and architectural criteria to guide the design of new buildings, renovation of existing structures and public realm improvements.
