Among an increasing number of S+L residential commissions is this apartment renovation in an 80’s era mid-rise apartment building overlooking a park and the Charles River near Harvard Square.
It was designed for an architecturally savvy Harvard Business School professor and his art historian wife. Essentially it was a gut rehab of to which nothing had been done to in 30 years.
The design response is a simple, modernist monochromatic background for the owners’ collection of books and art. The spaces are unified by the used of wide maple plank flooring throughout.
